This class uses the Saxon Algebra 1 curriculum that utilizes an incremental strategy in which each new concept is continuously reviewed. It covers signed numbers, exponents, roots, absolute value, equations and inequalities, scientific notation, unit conversions, polynomials, graphs, factoring, quadratic equations, direct and inverse variations, exponential growth, statistics, and probability.
In this class, your student will receive teacher instruction for each week’s lesson and help on homework questions. It is the parent’s responsibility to check that their child is keeping up with homework and to administer the tests provided in the curriculum in order to evaluate your child’s progress. The teacher is available for any questions on the homework and tests.
Students will need to purchase the Saxon Algebra 1 hardcover student text, answer key to problem sets and tests, and test booklet.This is a Homeschool Tutorial. Class length is 32 weeks divided into 2 – 16 week semesters.
