Thursday | 2:30-3:30 PM | 3rd-6th Grade
During this year long course, we will explore early American history. We will begin by learning about the rich native American heritage of our country and then continue through early exploration, Colonial America, the American Revolution, birth of our new nation, pioneers and Westward expansion, and industrialization. We will meet many interesting characters, even some heroes! We will learn how these Americans contributed and helped shape our great nation. Class time will include group discussion, hands-on activities and crafts, cooking, skits, geography and more! Homework will consist of watching video clips and exploring interactive websites to reinforce the subject. There will also be suggested library books to read at home throughout the year.
