This class is an introduction to Traditional Tae Kwon Do. Traditional Tae Kwon Do is the predominant Korean martial art which has roots from eight of the worlds most ancient and time-honored arts – and as such – is robust in both its curriculum of self-defense capability and it depth of character development tenets. Physically, students will make progress in coordination, reflex development, flexibility, balance, speed and power of movement, spacial awareness and self-defense capacity. Meanwhile, character development is facilitated through the primary tenets of Traditional Tae Kwon Do – Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control & Indomitable Spirit.
This class will be instructed by one of the experienced adult instructors of Asheville Sun Soo Martial Arts, voted #1 in WNC for 10 years straight.
This class is intended for inexperienced students, as a first exposure engagement. For the duration of the Elevate 16-week semester class series, Elevate students may attend up to two (2) additional classes per week at the Asheville Sun Soo Martial Arts facility – at no additional class – in order to learn even more during this semester series. Students who wish to continue their practice beyond the Elevate introductory series, may do so by enrolling as ongoing students at Asheville Sun Soo Martial Arts at the conclusion of the semester
This is an Arts Academy class. Class length is 16 weeks. Spring Semester Only.
