Julie Bacon is a seasoned Irish Step Dancer, with over 15 years of experience sharing her passion through performing and teaching. Her love for Irish Step Dance began at an early age after her parents introduced her to Riverdance, which led her to begin competing in 1999. Since then, Julie has trained and competed nationally and internationally- dancing at the New England Regionals, Nationals, All-Scotlands, All-Irelands, British Championships, and World Championships in Philadelphia and Boston, as well as performing at the half-time show for the Boston Celtics. Julie began teaching Irish Step several years ago when she became co-instructor of the Stonehill College Irish Dance Club, while studying Healthcare Administration there. After graduating, she relocated from Maine to Asheville, NC, where she currently works as the Program Coordinator for the MAHEC Family Medicine Residency Program. Julie is thrilled to have found her way back to Irish Step in her new home of Asheville, and can’t wait to share her passion with the Elevate students!
