I am happy to teach piano and voice lessons at Elevate because I want to share the love of music with everyone I can! I enjoy growing the minds of young people and mentoring them in a compassionate and joyful way so they can develop confidence in themselves, thrive in their communities, and in turn, contribute something positive to the world. Music education has phenomenal potential to develop essential keys to learning and thriving across other disciplines and areas of life.
Since 1992, I have been teaching and coaching students in private lessons, schools and churches in the subjects of piano, voice, music theory and ear-training. I have a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Sacred Music from Appalachian State University. I am a member of Music Teachers National Association.
In addition to teaching and making music, I am raising my teenage son, who is a great baritone player! I love exploring God’s beautiful creation of the Blue Ridge mountains by hiking and canoeing. I also find inspiration here for photography, writing, crocheting, cooking and baking.
“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music.”
Psalm 98:4 NIV
