Dr. R.J. Burle is a chiropractor, martial artist, outdoorsman and most importantly a husband and a father. He began studying martial arts in 1986 while living in South Korea with his parents. Starting with Tae Kwon do, moving through Ninjitsu, and landing with Systema he has studied the art of movement for many years. He enjoys the art of Systema most as it focuses less on static technique and more on the “fight” that happens internally. Systema not only teaches how to defend the body, it teaches a free flow of thoughts and movement, that can help with an actual fight, public speaking, or excess school work. As a chiropractor who has worked on people with chronic injuries due to lifelong bad habits, R.J. enjoys teaching the youth how to live a healthy life and to avoid bad habits that start in the awkward years. R.J. studies Systema with Bill Parravano, leader of Movement Asheville. Bill has been involved in martial arts for 26 years. He will often accompany R.J. in class so that the students will receive extra insight and teaching.
